James E. Reed, DDS, MD
Meet Dr. Reed, Oral Surgeon
Dr. James E. Reed is a native of Texas having lived in a small town near San Antonio. He earned a BS degree in chemistry and biology from Stephen F. Austin University and a DDS degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed one year general practice residency at Wood VA and Marquette University in Milwaukee, then practiced general dentistry in south Texas for four years. He returned the Midwest to pursue Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Cincinnati, earning a MD while there. He then completed three years of general surgery training at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle en route to a Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Fellowship at Children’s Hospital and Orthognathic Surgery Fellowship at Swedish Medical Center. Dr. Reed is board certified and an affiliate faculty at the University of Washington School of Dentistry teaching dental students and residents. His clinical interests include pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral and facial reconstruction, outpatient anesthesia, dental implants, dentoalveolar surgery and pathology. His hobbies include history, travel, baseball, cars and most outdoor activities, especially hiking and kayaking with his family, friends and son.
