What's the process for getting dental implants?

The dental implant process typically takes several months to complete. After initial placement, you'll notice a metal healing abutment protruding through your gum tissue - this is normal. On surgery day, avoid disturbing the wound by rinsing, spitting, or touching it. While some bleeding is normal for 24 hours, you can return to a normal diet as soon as you feel comfortable, starting with soft foods. Good oral hygiene is essential for healing - you'll need to use a prescribed oral rinse and do warm salt water rinses 4-5 times daily. We'll provide specific instructions about wearing any temporary prosthetics during healing.
